PLAZA Mobile Market Presentation (UA Garden Kitchen)
Discussion/Direction: PLAZA Mobile Market, a program of the UA Garden Kitchen, is an affordable mobile market that supports both access to fresh local foods in under-resourced communities and economic development for small local farmers, including mostly refugee farmers. Historically providing weekly mobile markets at both the Valencia and Quincie Douglas Pima County Library locations, PLAZA Mobile Market is under threat of going away entirely because of the cuts to the SNAP-Ed program in HR1, the One Big Beautiful Bill. Presentation from Jenn Parlin and Meredith Glaubach of the UA Garden Kitchen regarding the history of this impactful and unique program, current challenges, and the road ahead. (District 2)
